Let me tell you a story…

I was 8 years old when I first started writing, using an old baby blue composition notebook to take the thoughts swirling around in my mind and put them on paper. I wrote about girls who didn’t fit in only to realize that there was a world of magic where they belonged. I wrote about young women who were clever—cleverer than anyone gave them credit for—who solved mysteries.

And I wrote a lot of fanfiction.

When it came time to choose a college major, I chose biology because I loved learning how our world worked…and then picked up an English major because reading and writing only research papers was the worst kind of torture. I realized that while science would always be an interest, it wasn’t meant to be my path.

Writing and telling stories was my true passion.

Fast forward and now, I work for an infrastructure software company telling the stories of how our amazing users are making a positive impact in our world. I took my two interests, science and storytelling, and made it into a career that I love. You can read some of them for yourself here on my site.

So, what do I do when I’m not working? I love to be outside, whether it’s hiking, running a 5K, or walking through our neighborhood. I’m always looking for a fun new recipe and enjoy following the latest health trends. I also spend my nights tearing through my latest romantasy read while my husband games beside me and our cat sleeps between us.

And, of course, I still write about clever women and magic and people looking to belong (and yes, some fanfiction too).
